Amphora Aromatics Shampoo Review

I received 6 sachets of shampoo free from Amphora Aromatics in order to provide honest feedback.

For the purpose of this review the only hair care product that was used at the time of testing were the shampoo sachets. No conditioner, hair masks, heat protection sprays etc were used in order to provide a true, accurate account of the product. The shampoos are part of the Amphora Aromatics Essential Skincare Collection.

The Shampoo

1. Pomegranate and Rose 250ml £5.94

Suitable for frequent use on all hair types.

“Antioxidant and strengthening to give you gloriously glossy hair”

This is ultra gentle and suitable for everyday use. It smells lovely too with the fragrance provided by rose and geranium oils, the antioxidant effects come from the pomegranate.

The shampoo lathers well and a little goes a long way. My hair felt silky
smooth upon drying and was easy to style.

2. Ylang Ylang, Argan and Rosemary Conditioning Shampoo 250ml £5.49

Suitable for dry hair.

“A naturally effective, nutrient-rich conditioning shampoo which can help repair split ends and encourage softness, shine and volume.”

The top notes of Ylang Ylang and Rosemary are heavenly. Ylang Ylang helps battle brittle hair whilst aiding in hydrating and protecting your scalp thus discouraging dandruff. Rosemary is a natural antioxidant but also aids with volume
and encourages hair growth.

Upon drying with the hairdryer the Argan Oil scent prevails. I love Argan oil it’s one of my favourite hair care products because it is vitamin A and E rich which aids with split ends as well as softening your hair and it smells divine.

3. Peony, Bay and Brahmi Nourishing Shampoo 250ml £5.49

Suitable for all hair types.

“A calming and balancing shampoo with natural Peony extract to help boost hair growth and maintain scalp health. Can help repair damaged hair and soothe irritated skin.”

This smells very similar to the Ylang Ylang, Argan and Rosemary above. Rosemary is a strong contender for the top note alongside the Peony a natural astringent, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Brahmi encourages healthy thick hair growth and healthy skin.

When using this shampoo I noticed that my skin (I suffer with eczema. dermatitis and psoriasis) did not get as inflammed as when using my normal shampoo, my hair was also left amazingly shiny! This shampoo is definitely a winner in my book.

4. Amla and Clary Sage Rejuvenating Shampoo 250ml £5.49

Suitable for all hair types.

“A balancing and moisturising shampoo with vitamin C rich Amla (Indian Gooseberry) to strengthen roots. Naturally soothes and protects against scalp irritations leaving hair healthy and strong.”

This is a great shampoo to reach for when you need a boost especially in the morning.

5. Cedarwood and Peppermint Deep Cleansing Shampoo 250ml £5.49

Suitable for oily hair.

“An invigorating, naturally antimicrobial shampoo which also adds volumeand shine. Rich in calcium, Vitamin E and amino acids to protect, nourish and strengthen oily hair.”

Cedarwood oil reduces danduff and helps minimise hair loss. The Corn mint oil used in this shampoo has microbial properties. There is a slight smell of Eucalyptus oil that comes upon drying this oil helps add volume and shine to your hair.

This is my favourite out of the six. The scent combination is so invigorating and smells good enough to eat. My hair was left smooth, shiny and sleek with a little bounce.

6. Rosemary, Sage and Burdock Lift and Repair Shampoo 250ml £5.49

Suitable for all hair types.

“An antioxidant rich shampoo with natural extracts to help repair damaged hair and promote a healthy scalp. Packed with vitamins and minerals to nourich hair, leaving it soft, shiny and strong.”

This is a very fragrant shampoo with the Rosemary and Sage being the top notes. Rosemary, Sage and Burdock team up to provide a boost for your follicles and aid with volume.

I found this to be my least favourite shampoo. My hair is very fine and fly away normally but even more so when using this product, I could not wear my hair down at all due to it becoming very static like and sticking to my face. I ended up giving up straightening my hair and just tying it up.

All of these shampoos are available in a larger 500ml bottle with a pump dispenser for £9.54 here.

In conclusion these shampoos are lovely. They smell gorgeous and are reasonably priced. Although they are made using natural ingredients such as essential oils there are still a few preservatives within them.
