Shabby Chic Graduation Card

As you can tell I love, love, love owls!

Graduation owl card

For this card I used

  • 8″x 8″ white Scalloped card blank
  • Free papers from Debbi Moore Bringing Inspiration To You Issue 24
  • Foam pads
  • Double sided tape
  • Glossy Accents
  • Fake Kraft card (A4 Brown Folder)
  • Clevercut 5 in 1 Trimmer

  1. Cut kraft card so that it fits to the blank leaving an even border.
  2. Trim the free brown polka dot paper to size leaving a narrow border and affix to the kraft card using double sided tape.
  3. To make decorative strip, cut kraft card to fit flush with the length of the first kraft card layer and about 2 inches wide as shown. Cover this strip with the blue flower paper so that it leaves a border on the right and left sides. Attach to the left hand side of card as pictured.
  4. Cut out the ribbon strip from the papers and fix to the bottom of card using double sided tape.
  5. Cut out the owl topper and fix half on the decoratve strip and half off using foam pads.
  6. Fix the “Have a hoot” sentiment to the bottom right of card as shown using foam pads.
  7. Finish the card by applying Glossy Accents to the owls eyes.

Thanks for looking at this card, as you know I do love freebies and these are some of the best quality free papers I have come across in my few short years of crafting. I love how all these papers co-ordinate with each other and this makes making lovely cards easy. Thank you Debbi Moore and team.

More cards coming soon.

Thanks Lynne

Shabby Chic Sister Owl Card

This was the first card I made in well over a year so it is just a simple one. I made this using the free papers from the “Debbi Moore Bringing Inspiration to You” magazine, issue 24. I have only just discovered this magazine and I honestly wish I had known about this magazine from issue one as the free papers are excellent quality and you get a whole CD-ROM too. The magazines themselves are fabulous and have a lovely feel and the instructions for the projects are so easy to follow.

I’m baaaaaaaack!

Hi all,

I am now back online after a long, long time. I have had quite a year! I’ve started a new job, moved home and had a beautiful baby girl. During this time my crafting has been put on the back burner bt I’m now back on form and crafting away.

My aim is to make at least one or two cards per day so fingers crossed.

Glad to be back in the world of crafting, oh how I’ve missed you all. 🙂
