Father’s Day Cards

With Father’s Day just around the corner I have been busy crafting with my male kits. I don’t often make cards for men as I’m all cute animals and beautiful butterflies, not to mention I find me incredibly difficult to make for, or is that just me?

All cards were handmade by me using Hunkydory products along with dies, ribbons and peel offs.

You Are My Jam

For all the vinyl loving, groovy men out there. This was made using the “Let the Good Times Roll” topper set from the Super Men collection. 6×6 card blank with blue matts and the co-ordinating paper from the topper set. The topper itself is actually from the same sheet of card and was cut using a square die. A strip of comic card was added befor the topper was matted and added.

The arm of the record player was cut and foam pads added to give dimension. The card was finished with buttons in the corners and an insert.

Top of the Pops

From the same collection and topper set. This A5 card was made following my favourite sketch. Blue adorable scorable and the groovy comic card were matted onto gold mirri card and arranged as seen. The blue foiled card was attached to the bottom of the card and the star ribbon strip was added.

The topper was then fixed into place using foam pads and adorned with the “Pop” topper. The “Let the good times roll” sentiment was added at the bottom left hand corner with foam pads. The card was finished with a red gem in each corner.

You’re Reel-y Awesome

Using the same sketch (told you it was my favourite) and method as above this card was created using the “You’re Reel-y Awesome” topper set from the Super Men collection. The only differences are the “Have a Wonderful Day” sentiment has been centralised and the “World’s Best Grandad” topper has been affixed the the top left of the second matt.

World’s Best Grandad

Again from the Super Men collection using the “World’s Best Grandad” topper set this A5 card was made by adding a ribbon across the bottom of the chevron cardstock before  matting onto gold mirri card and affixing in place the topper and frame using foam pads. A bow was made from the same ribbon and attached using red tape.

A Grandfather

This 6×6 card was made by matting the patterened card onto mustard adorable scorable. A piece of ribbon was added as a border before the three square toppers were affixed using foam pads. The sentiment topper was added and four gems in the corners embellish the design.

Planting Happiness

This easel card was made using the “Planting Happiness” topper set from the aforementioned collection. An A5 blank was used to create the easel blank. The printed card was fixed to the bottom of the blank ensuring the boots and plants were on show. the top part of the blank was covered using the same piece of card. The stopper for this card was also from the same but was adorned with the “Lovingly made just for you” sentiment and added using foam pads.

The large watering can topper was fixed to the left hand side of the card with the “with love and best wishes” tag sentiment being added at an angle to the right.

The bottom of the card was finished by affixing the “He who plants a garden, plants happiness” topper at an angle to the left of the card and adding gold peel offs across the bottom right and on the planter.

Crafting with Hunkydory Issue 35 Entries

After my win in issue 34, I eagerly awaited issue 35 landing on my doormat so that I could check out “What’s New”, see my creation published (also had a letter published), play with the free kit and to check out the new competitions of course!

The Reader’s Gallery competition this time was a card dedicated to the men in our lives. It didn’t have to be a Father’s Day one but I had just had some new peel offs delivered so they HAD to be used!

The prize this time is the entire Twilight Kingdom Sunset Edition collection. I have my fingers well and truly crossed for this one.

This was the first time I made a twisted easel card made using the Birthdays for Him kit and embellished with some buttons and twine. I love the colours in this card.

Here is my entry:

The Sketch Challenge this time around is to win £25 worth of crafty goodies. I used the Forest Friends kit and flipped the sketch. This is the cutest kit I’ve ever seen and it is just so me!

Good luck all and happy crafting.
